The Human Electrotechnics Foundation (HUMEA) began its operations in 1995. The foundation’s initial primary goal was to support the educational opportunities and work of students in the Department of High Voltage Technology and Equipment at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), currently known as the Department of Electrical Energy, High Voltage Technology, and Equipment Group.
Over the past decades, while maintaining its initial focus on supporting education, our foundation has led numerous successful initiatives to promote the scientific culture and knowledge in electrotechnics, in line with the spirit of its founding charter. It has supported students and researchers in their high-level research and development efforts and awarded grants to recognize excellence among practitioners in the field of electrotechnics. Additionally, our foundation has participated in publishing professional books, notes, and educational materials, as well as organizing professional training sessions.
The Human Electrotechnics Foundation works in close collaboration with the BME High Voltage Technology and Equipment Group. The foundation supports research conducted at the BME High Voltage Laboratory, as well as the modernization of the Laboratory. Within this collaboration, our foundation participates in projects that include the development of new environmentally friendly technologies, adaptation of existing green technologies, and mitigating the negative effects of electromagnetic fields on the human body. Furthermore, the foundation also participates in international research and development (R&D) projects.
